View Full Version : Emergency Maintenence Notification 09/02/05
DATE: 09/2/2005
START TIME: 09/2/2005 08:00 GMT
ESTIMATED END TIME: 09/2/2005 11:00 GMT
Our upstream provider will be performing emergency maintenance to upgrade one of their core routers. Some latency and intermittent outages may occur as paths are automatically rerouted during this time.
Hi,
Earlier this morning, our provider for our network in Ashburn, VA had a scheduled outage as posted above. Unfortunately, the outage ran over by approximately 2.5 hours. The last update we have heard from them was that after the upgrade of this core router, the CPU utilization shot up to 100%, and they were working with Cisco on the issue. I will be updating again shortly after I talk to them (BtN) to get the latest status. Had we been able to provide an update earlier, we most definitely would have. At this time everything is up and running. More to come after I talk to BtN shortly. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
Please note that some of the routes may take a few minutes to propagate, and as such if you are unable to reach your sites/servers, please give it just a few more minutes and try again. I am calling BtN again now for an update and will update you all again shortly. Once again, although completely out of our control, we do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

Did you mean to write Eastern Time instead of GMT? I'm getting outages here and it's currently 9:50am.

sorry... posted at the same time as you. Ignore my previous post.

The outage times reported above were copied and pasted directly from their email.
Hi,
After talking with BtN just a few moments ago, I was informed that all of their updates are done, and they have no more maintenance planned for today. Please be assured that we are (and have been) keeping a very close on eye on everything, and we do not expect there to be any further issues at this time.
Thank you all for your patience and once again, we apologize for any inconvenience the outage may have caused. Please understand that this has been a frustrating time for all of us here as well, and we are glad to see everything back up and running fine at this time.
Jeff
