I need to find out if I am worried for reason or for nothing. My client at www.gbntv.org is a 24/7 Broadcasting via satellite and cable. They will also offer streaming video via their satellite company by placing a link on their website (which I do for them) that takes them to the satellite company's server (to view the streaming video).

My reason for worry is that I personally know that the interest in this launch date (about 30 days from now) is going to be tremendous...possibly in the hundreds of thousands could actually visit the site to view the streaming video if they cannot get the satellite or cable.

WHAT DO I DO TO PREPARE??? I don't know how many people will actually visit, but I don't want to be underprepared or overprepared.

Please share your thoughts.

Hi,

The best gameplan for times when you (or one of your customers) are expecting a potentially large and sudden increase in traffic is the following:

1. Be aware of how much bandwidth you have available to you on a monthly basis per your reseller package (http://www.myriadnetwork.com/resellers/resellers.php).

2. As the time draws near, make note of how much bandwidth you have available to you for the rest of the month.

3. Also make note of how much bandwidth you have allocated for the account that is expecting the increase in traffic.

4. If necessary, allocate more bandwidth for the site that is receiving the extra traffic. Overselling is allowed for all reseller accounts, which means you can give as much bandwidth as you'd like to any particular customer(s).

This can be monitored via WHM (https://yoursite:2083).

A. Log into WHM for your reseller account.
B. Under "Account Information", there is a link that says "View Bandwidth Usage".
C. If you need to allocate more bandwidth for a specific user, click the http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/9291/change8xq.gif and up the limit as necessary.

You may also start receiving bandwidth notifications via email about the site should it hit 80% of its bandwidth usage for the month. If your reseller account comes close to running out of bandwidth for the month, you may want to open a ticket with us (http://my.myriadnetwork.com) about purchasing more bandwidth.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks.
