If anyone is looking to accept Visa/Mastercard/Amex/Discover I'm happy to recommend the folks at www.cdgcommerce.com (http://www.cdgcommerce.com). We've gone through several payment processors in the past and they have been, without a doubt, the most helpful to date. CDG combined with the authorize.net payment gateway make a nice combination.
So, why choose them over something like PayPal? A couple of reasons:
1. They deposit money directly into your FDIC (http://www.fdic.gov/) insured bank account. PayPal is neither a bank, nor governed by banking regulations, nor FDIC insured. They play by the rules they make up which may be to the benefit of the seller or the buyer depending on the situation.
2. The folks at CDG are on your (the merchants) side. If someone disputes a charge, CDG will work with you to resolve the issue. In contrast to PayPal which represents both the buyer and seller, CDG only represents the seller.
Rather than making this sound like a commerical for CDG, if you have any specific questions about the service they provide, either contact them directly, or post your question here and we will do our best to answer you.
