Hi,

As a followup to a thread posted about a recent unscheduled outage on web5 (http://www.myriadnetwork.com/forum/showthread.php?t=186), Dell (http://www.dell.com) will be coming onsite sometime this evening to replace the motherboard, a motherboard riser, and the DRAC (Dell Remote Access Card) (http://www.dell.com/content/topics/global.aspx/power/en/ps2q02_bell) in the server.

At this time Dell has not given us a time frame for when they expect to be onsite, nor how long the maintenance will take. We are speculating the duration will be in the neighborhood of about 20 minutes, but that is just a ballpark figure at this time. As always, we will post updates as soon as possible throughout the evening as we learn more to include the progress of the maintenance.

While we always strive to post maintenance notifications in as far advance as possible, this is critical maintenance that is best done sooner than later to ensure the stability of the server. Your patience is appreciated during this time. Thank you.

We have just been informed that Dell is supposed to have the new parts at the datacenter (http://www.myriadnetwork.com/datacenter/network.php) around 9PM EDT (about 40 minutes from now). More information will be posted as it becomes available.

Hi,

web5 is currently back up. If your sites do not come up immediately, please give it just a few more minutes.

Thanks to everyone on web5 for their patience. After troubleshooting everything we could on our end, we made the decision earlier today to engage Dell to address this issue proactively rather than wait for the server to totally tank and have an extended outage. While I realize downtime is never acceptable we felt this was the best course of action to bring quick resolution to this issue.

As previously discussed Dell came onsite and replaced the servers motherboard, one of the processors, the remote access controller and the motherboard riser.

Hopefully this will address the issue with the random reboots.

Again, thanks for you're patience.

Tom
