Have an idea for a contest, competition, or promotion? Post it here! No idea is too zany, and if we like it, we just may use it for upcoming events in this forum, so let's hear your ideas!

I can only think of two right now, one of which has some potential at being a near future contest idea so I'll give it a try:

Christmas is coming! What present are you planning on giving your server and why'd you select such a gift?

Being a server, running 24/7 and many people trying to speak to you at the same time. How stressful! What music would you play to soothe its operating agony and why?

 Find and Share the most useful/helpful site on the internet for all hosting/designing companies to know about...

 Show where you have posted recommendations to use MyriadNetwork.net at 10 different popular websites utilized by hosts

 Place a link to MyriadNetwork.net on your home page which tracks visitors who click on it and visit the MyriadNetwork.net website (of course, I would not know how to make a link like this but maybe you would)

I'm pretty sure that's already been implemented as part of the referral program where you get a special link which Myriad tracks and you can earn some money if the visitor signs up with Myriad.

Great suggestions, his!

Like minglong said, however, #3 is very similar to our Affiliate Program (http://www.myriadnetwork.com/affiliates/)

Thanks for your suggestions!

Thank you for letting me know that! Is it considered spam to email your customers regarding your contests? My new #3 suggestion is when billing is sent out that the receipt has advertising showing what the current and next month contests will be in order to promote them. ;)

Place a suduko image and the first person to post back with a completed grid wins.
Ask a question that is a riddle... the person that answers it correctly wins.
Hide text in your website and give some clues to try to find what the word should be.

Hehe, all real good ideas. I especially like the riddle. That could get real good.

Perhaps a murder mystery or one of those dealios. Hmmm...

I've forgotten (if I ever knew) what the prize is for your contests. You may have a hard time getting anyone to participate if the contest is to difficult or time-consumming. (I assume this is why the rules for this contest reduced the number of ideas required for submission from three to "1 or more".) However, as far as I can see, the expected rate of participation is not a factor for the purposes of the contest. Therefore I submit the following:

Contest Ideas

(1) Best Script Contest - Winner will have submitted the most useful script for the average webmaster/administrator. In determining which submission is "best", the judges will assess the script's potential audience (how many can use this script), its documentation and ease of use. Submission need not be created by the submitting party, but must be available as a free distribution.

(2) Best Freeware Contest - Winner will have submitted the most useful application for the average webmaster/administrator. In determining which submission is "best", the judges will assess the software's potential audience (how many can use this software), its documentation and ease of use. Submission need not be created by the submitting party, but must be available as a free distribution.

(3) Best Comparison Review - Winner will have submitted the most useful product or service review, including a comparison of similar products or services. In determining which submission is "best", the judges will assess the review's potential audience (how many can save time because of the review), its documentation and its comprehensiveness (did the review consider the full spectrum of practical possibilities).

To be honest, I would have to say that I'd be more interested in seeing the results from those three contests than winning this one, but this is my submission.

What about a poem/essay praising Myriad using tech terms to emphasize the service.

I did one awhile back for a meat company and it went something like this.

It is Rare for a business to go so far out of its way to please. Much is at Steak when dealing with quality. A well-seasoned business such as yourself is an asset. We grilled our staff about the service and with a poke in the Rib ,Eye and Bottom, they all voted on you! Well done, Charlie. You are Grade A certified!

Customer sebax has requested a contest based on something NBA or sports related. Since sebax has just won this month's contest, this idea will be used for the August contest.

You could have some sort of internet scavenger hunt. Name a few things that don't belong together naturally, and award whoever can find the most pictures combining at least 2 of them.

For example, a contest over "Dogs, Space, Santa" would allow picture combinations of Dogs and Space, Dogs and Santa, Space and Santa. Rules could limit the maximum number of pictures of each combination and/or add additional groups of words.
