Here's another possible candidate for your How-To section on the boards here and/or your knowledgebase.
Okay, the scenario is the following:
Let's say, I've set up a domain for a client under
thatolddomain.com
with plenty add-ons, like phpBB bulletin board, WordPress blog etc etc
Now the client decides he doesn't like thatolddomain.com any more and wants to use
amuchcoolerdomain.com instead.
Obviously, I don't want to do all the setup and configuration work for phpBB, WordPress etc all over again, so I'm looking for a way to transition with minimal effort from thatolddomain.com to amuchcoolerdomain.com.
A quick fix is to keep thatolddomain.com and just park amuchcoolerdomain.com under the same account / username.
But what would be necessary if I wanted to completely "retire" thatolddomain.com, yet keep everything that's set up and just use amuchcoolerdomain.com instead.
Home directory / user name (and password) could obviously remain the same, only the domain name would get "swapped out", so to speak...
