Hello.

Many of you may receive email on your default domain email address, and 9 times out of 10, it may be for a randomly generated email account for your domain which is being routed to your default domain email address. Typically, spam.

For example:

You receive spam addressed to sd938f9s02@yourdomain.com.

This is due to your account being setup with a "catchall" account. This means, all email sent to your domain not addressed to an actual user is delivered to the default address (typically cpanel-username@yourdomain.com)

So, there is a very easy way to stop this type of spam.

In cPanel, go to: Mail -> Default Address -> Set Default Address

You will need to change the default un-routable procedure.

Send all unrouted e-mail for: [your domain] to _________

In the box, type :fail: No Such User Here

This way, all incoming email that is unroutable will be rejected. The bounce message will display "No such address here."

This will help you stop some unwanted spam, and really won't negatively affect your email accounts at all. It will simply reject email not addressed to any account for your domain.

Hope this helps some of you! For additional questions, feel free to ask.
