I hope everyone is having a great Holiday!

I am, like many I am sure, a one person operation. I was thinking today "what if" something should ever happen to me? What would become of my hosting accounts and all my customer files?

I would like to propose that in our billing area, there be some kind of "Alternative Account Access" where by a person or entity would be listed
as "authorized" to assume full control of the account should something happen to myself. This contact would be responsible for paying the bill and taking full control. All you would have to do is to assist with password resets to the WHM and the overall reseller account transfer.

This would avoid disruption of service to customers.
It would be the new account holders responsibilty to deal with contacting
all the customers in the reseller account to inform them of new ownership.
The listed person or entity can be edited and it would be up to the person or entity to contact myriad to inform them that they are assuming control.

Im sure there could also be a few checks and balances in place for security reasons.

I guess reviewing insurance policies lately has put this thought into my head.
But really, as insane as it sounds, what would become of a resellers account and all his/her customers if they dropped dead one day? I think we should be given a chance to at least pass it on if we have a capable friend or business associate that can handle it.

Any thoughts on this? Or have I been getting an early start on my New years Eve drinking? - LOL

Hi - in our new billing system, which I think you just got setup in, we can add additional authorized contacts (from our side). I'm putting in a feature request to allow customers to add additional authorized contacts directly via the customer interface. In the mean time if you, or any customer, desires to have additional POC's on file please just email billing@myriadnetwork.com and we will manually add them for the time being.
