Hello,

When you do a traceroute, you should see something along the lines of "eq.ash.v#.myriadnetwork.com". The # is the node you're on.

Is there anyway to be notified of these types of reboots?

Other then coming to these forums everyday

This certainly provides daily updates (which I have subscribed to) but is there a way to get instant updates? (daily updates really don't help in this case...)

How much notice is normally given for these types of things?

For something that involves an attacker possibly crashing the hardware node or gaining root access we take care of the issue immediately.

If you have specific concerns please address them to support@myriadnetwork.com.

This thread is for tracking servers being rebooted.

Thanks.

Has all the rebooting finished yet? I forgot what vps I was on and mine appears to be down. The traceroute doesn't seem to reveal anything past pccwbtn.

Hello,

Some of the servers appear to be fsck'ing. Some are on their way up as we speak. Sorry for the delays, folks. These things happen when you have 120+ days of uptime. :)

Damn those consistency checks :p. Do you have any sort of rough estimate as to how much longer they'll be down for?

At this moment, no. Hoping soon; but we'll keep you updated!

Hello,

v5 is currently undergoing fsck. More details to follow.

All I can ask is for everyone to have a little patience. We have no control over the FSCK. This is what we see when we reboot:

Checking all file systems.
[/sbin/fsck.ext3 (1) -- /install] fsck.ext3 -a /dev/sda3
/dev/sda3: clean, 11/368000 files, 20840/734973 blocks
[/sbin/fsck.ext3 (1) -- /vz] fsck.ext3 -a /dev/sda4
/dev/sda4 has gone 299 days without being checked, check forced.

So.....the big '/vz' partion with everyones data on it is undergoing a filesystem check. This server does have the big 300GB SCSI drives so it may take a bit of time.

We will stay on top of the issue.

Thanks for your continued patience.

Tom

I totally understand. It just caught me a bit off guard. I just switched over to you guys 5 days ago and hadn't got on the mailing list yet.

But I'm on the list now.

Although so far I'm really happy with your service.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop,

- Chad

Great, looks like mine's back. Time to go see why Apache rebelled and didn't start :p.

All servers on v5 should be up by now. If you're still experiencing issues, please open a support ticket. Thanks for your patience.

I think it affected every VPS but if you didn't notice it, then you're luckier and the update for your server's probably finished :).

sorry, we got delayed last night waiting for a couple servers to finish fsck'ing. We plan to knock out the rest tonight. I will get a time for everyone here shortly.

Thanks.
