If you are an unmanaged VDS or unmanaged dedicated customer, it is important to keep an eye on the following website, which shows when cPanel updates are released:

http://layer1.cpanel.net

Updates for CURRENT and EDGE were released last night and today, respectively. Updates for STABLE and RELEASE should be on the way soon.

To see what version of cPanel you're using, run the following command:

$ cat /usr/local/cpanel/version

I'd like to point out that I personally do not recommend running CURRENT or EDGE, as those tend to be the branches with the least amount of testing. As such, they are to be considered betas which may contain bugs. STABLE and RELEASE should generally be fine.

If you do not have cPanel set to autoupdate (this is configurable via WHM), then you can run the following command as root to update cPanel when ready:

# /scripts/upcp

The latest updates will address an important security issue. As such, it is strongly advised that customers perform the update as soon as possible after the update has been released for their version of cPanel.

Once again I'd like to thank the folks over at cPanel for their incredibly speedy response times, as well as their immediate attention to the issue that was brought to their attention last night.

I'd also like to point out that, as customers of Myriad Network, this is not the first time that your cPanel servers have had critical security enhancements made before probably 99% of all other cPanel hosts on the Internet - and of course at no cost. This includes ALL cPanel customers - VDS or dedicated, managed or unmanaged, courtesy of Myriad Network :)
