04/19/07 - web9, kernel update + reboot

All,

In an effort to resolve the server crash from earlier, we will be upgrading the kernel on web9 at 7:59PM EDT (11:59PM GMT) this evening. The new kernel is already installed, but the server needs to be rebooted for it to be applied.
We will post all updates later this evening as we reboot the server. Thanks.

The issue we have been dealing with is a kernel panic in one of the kernel quota routines (dquot.c). The issue is fully documented here - http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=1601

We updated to a newer kernel, provided by a redhat developer, which we believe addresses the issue.
