Hi,

This is driving me nuts.

I have an auto provisioning domain and hosting script called whois.cart.

Part of auto creation of accounts is to associate the WHM key on my VDS to allow autocreation - everything is working except that despite checking all settings more than once the hosting account is being created on the last i.p. of my four i.p.'s - when in fact I want all accounts to be created on the first i.p.

Is this something I can control through WHM - I have looked everywhere I can think of.

Hi Brian,

I'm not familiar with whois.cart, but in WHMs "Create a New Account" menu, if you uncheck the box that says "IP", then when a new account is created it should, by default, be placed on the server's primary/first IP address. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Also, if these accounts are being created under a specific reseller account, you could try this from within WHM:

Reseller Center -> (select the reseller's username from the dropdown menu labeled "Select a Reseller") -> Manage Main Shared/Ipless Ip

That would allow you to choose the default IP address that new accounts are placed on, as long as the new account wasn't using a package that had the "IP" box checked.

Yes, the last time I did a manual creation - it used the default first I.P.

Does that package that is being applied to the new accounts created by whois.cart have the "IP" box checked?

I have the ip box unchecked and the reseller account I am using isn't a reseller account as such.

I am using the root level whm account so I am unable to do the reseller center stuff - or am I?

Correct - if you are using the root level WHM account, then the Reseller Center stuff would not apply. Is there a package that is being assigned to the new accounts?

I have the ip box unchecked

If the IP box is unchecked in the package, then I'm not sure why the accounts created by whois.cart are defaulting to the last IP address, unless the first IP address is a dedicated one (and thus not listed in /etc/ipaddrpool) and not a shared one. You may need to consult the vendor on this. Typically the first/primary IP address will be the default shared where all new accounts under the root reseller account would be placed on. I can't think of any other reasons why new accounts would not default to that address if the IP box is unchecked in the package.

edit: disregard the /etc/ipaddrpool info

The package does not have the i.p. checked.

I think I will create a reseller account and see what it does with that.

Thanks Jeff
